The Bullhead City Police Department is now accepting applications for Entry-Level and Lateral Police Officers!

Once your application is received and ­re­viewed, you will be notified in writing of the written test date.  On the written test, you must obtain at least a 70% to continue to the next phase.  Study guides are available through the Police Department.  The panel interview and physical agility test is the next phase.  If you pass the interview with at least a 75%, you will continue with the hiring process onto the final phase, which is the background investigation. The background investigation includes a background interview, polygraph and a psychological exam.  If an applicant is cleared through background phase, the information is submitted to the Chief of Police for a hiring decision.

police academyAll recruits begin by attending the WALETA (Western Arizona Law Enforcement Training Academy), a 21-week Arizona Post certified police training academy located in Lake Havasu City, Arizona. While attending this “live in” academy, recruits are paid employees of the City with an hourly rate of $30.00.  For more information on the certification process visit, the AZ Peace Officer Standards and Training Board (POST).
