DEA Rx Take-Back Day

  • Date: 10/27/2018 10:00 AM - 12:00 PM

National Prescription Drug Take-Back Day

The Bullhead City Police Department will be participating in the Drug Enforcement Administration’s (DEA) Annual National Prescription Drug Take-Back Day on Saturday, October 27th from 10 a.m. – noon.

During this time, law enforcement agencies across the country will provide a venue for people who want to safely and anonymously dispose of their unwanted, unused or expired prescription medications. Studies show that a majority of abused prescription drugs are obtained from family or friends and often from the home medicine cabinet.

A prescription drug drop-off site will be set up outside the Bullhead City Police Department, 1255 Marina Blvd, on Saturday, October 27th from 10 a.m. – 12 noon.  All medications collected will be turned over to the DEA for proper disposal.

According to the DEA, Arizonans disposed of 11,668 pounds, nearly six tons, of prescription drugs at the October, 2017 Take Back event. The DEA hopes that people will continue to show their commitment to combatting the opioid epidemic by showing up the DEA’s Take Back Events and delivering drugs for disposal.

To find other drop-off sites, log on to www.DEA.gov. For more information on prescription drug abuse, log on to www.DrugFreeAZ.org.

If you can’t make it, the Bullhead City Police Department has a permanent prescription drop-off box in the lobby during regular business hours.
