Business License

All businesses conducting or soliciting business, meaning any business, commercial enterprise, trade, occupation, calling, profession, vocation or activity engaged in by any person or entity or such person or entity's agent or employee, conducted for the purpose of financial gain, benefit or advantage, either direct or indirect or both, by businesses located within Bullhead City limits and those located outside the City limits but doing business within the city limits, need to obtain a City Business License. If applicable, a Bullhead City Transaction Privilege Tax License may be obtained from the Arizona Department of Revenue.

Short Term / Vacation Rental Registration:

The City of Bullhead City has implemented a system to meet the State of Arizona mandated Short Term / Vacation Rental registration and licensing requirements.

General Business Licenses:

Bullhead City is changing the way we issue business licenses. Bullhead City is transitioning all business licensing online. You can now apply for a new business license or renew your current business license through the FORWARD portal. Your business license will no longer have a static expiration date, instead, licenses will be valid for one year from the date of issuance.

How do I apply for or renew my business license?

Step 1: Create a FORWARD account. On the login page, click on the link to "Create business, non-profit, or landlord account." You will be prompted to register for an account; the prompt will ask for your Business/Organization name and email address.

Once you have entered that, FORWARD will send an email to your email that you used to create an account to set a secure password. After you create your password, login, and start the process, please check your SPAM/Junk folder if you don’t receive the email. Signing up with FORWARD is free. It is required to renew or apply for a new City of Bullhead City Business License.

Step 2: Renew or apply for a new business license. Once you are signed into your account, you will be able to browse available resources. Find the applicable business license application, either New or Renewal, and select "apply" or "renew".

Step 3: Fill out the application. Complete the required information, questions, and certifications.

Step 4: Submit. Once you’ve submitted your application, you’ll receive a confirmation email from forward-notification@livestories.com to the email address you used to sign up with FORWARD.

NOTE: Some types of business licenses require an addendum or supplement to be completed (i.e., Massage Establishments, Home Occupation businesses, Peddler's permits, etc.).

Fees

The typical annual license fee for a General Business License is $60.00 plus a one-time application fee of $60.00. Fee amounts may vary by license type.
