The Bullhead City Crime Victim Services Unit/Crisis Response Unit provides a variety of direct victim services within City limits as well as surrounding rural areas which includes, but is not limited to, on-scene crisis intervention, crisis counseling in person, by phone and email contact, criminal justice support/advocacy, personal advocacy, transportation/child care assistance, assistance with protective orders, lethality assessments/safety planning, emergency  financial expenses to cover immediate needs, direct and indirect referrals to other agencies and resources as appropriate, and assistance with Crime Victim Compensation applications.  Services are requested to provide Crisis Intervention and Victim Services to victims of crime and circumstance at the request of Bullhead City Police and Fire Departments, Western Arizona Regional Medical Center, River View Medical Center, River Valley and Mohave Valley High Schools.  Calls and requests for assistance are also received from the Mohave County Sheriff’s Department, Lake Mead National Recreational Area, Davis Dam Park, Fort Mohave Indian Tribe, and other agencies requesting crisis intervention services volunteers/services.  Volunteers are the heart of this program; we could not operate without them. Volunteer recruitment is consistent and there is a desperate need for additional volunteers.

Our agency is a funded by State and Federal Grants, as well as by the City.  Grant funding is limited and we have experienced several cuts, as have many agencies in funding due to our current economic situation.  Any financial donations on behalf of you or your organization will assist by funding various emergency victim needs such as emergency temporary shelter, food, clothing, transportation, re-key victim locks and any other necessary cost to the program in which grant funds will not cover.  If you or your organization can be of assistance with volunteers or donations, or if you would simply like further information about our program, please contact the Crime Victim Services Coordinator, Donza Erickson at 928-763-9400 ext. 8319.  If you have an interest in becoming a volunteer, please see our Human Resource Department for an application, or you may download one from the City website at:
